...Well, I honestly thought that this discarded project would
stay a discarded project, but...yeah. I guess all the comments and urging I got from you guys kinda motivated me to pick it up again. That, and while browsing through my old files for this game, I kinda realized that I really did have fun while making it (despite it taking forever just to get the main menu done and I had spent hours ripping my hair out trying to get the hang of flash). I'll still be using flash to make it, because Renpy's too restricting, and Novelty's too confusing (for me, at least). So that means I'll have to work on everything again from scratch. I'll still be using the old drawings I made for it (because redesigning would take up too much effort that I would rather use making the actual game), but I'll be making some slight adjustments here and there. One example being to get rid of the navigation concept where you are the one who decides where to go. Instead, I'll be making it more of a visual novel thing--to make things...ya know, easier for me :>
Also, unlike before when I was just starting this game, I'll only be working on it during my uber free-time, or when I simply have nothing to do and am not in the mood to draw. That being said, It could take me maybe half a year just to finish Nate's route.
But I've come to realize that it's simply impossible for me to finish this game alone, so I might be needing your help. If you know anything about coding and scripting in flash and have a lot of free time on your hands, I could really use your help on this =u=" If you're interested in volunteering, please send me a note and we can talk about the details through there ^^
At the moment, I can't do anything without a
loading screen, something that I'll probably never be able to make. So if you have any experience or simply know about how to make one,
speak to meh! ...please.
Getting my hands on a decent loading screen practically decides whether or not I'll be picking up the game again apparently. Besides that, I think I can manage the rest on my own. But of course, it would be faster if more people would volunteer to work with me on this one.
Just a few questions though, to help with the game design:1) Should I keep the main menu design and functions?
2) Should I keep the faint fading of the text between each dialog?
3) Should I make bad endings for the game as well?
4) Should the protagonist also appear on the screen during his/her dialog, or will a profile box be more than enough?
And some things that I would appreciate volunteers for:1) Loading Screen
2) Music & Audio (If possible, your own creation)
3) Script editors & Proofreaders
4) Background Artists
5) Game Testers (Should be familiar with flash 8 and be able to fix errors)
6) Adding a 'Save & Load' Feature
7) and possibly, Voice Actors
Again, I would appreciate any help you guys have to offer.
Hopefully this game can actually be finished.
Thanks, and stay awesome! 8D

Ask-Away!
yes, you totally, should. the main menu looks amazing.
2) Should I keep the faint fading of the text between each dialog?
i think that's fine, sometimes to show that a new text has appeared (coz sometimes I would accidently click the screen and the whole thing changes when i'm reading it but i didn't that it changed so i get really confused
3) Should I make bad endings for the game as well?
depends on if you have free time or not :3 (if u do decide to make a bad end, however, you should have a save option or something, coz im pretty sure most people wouldn't want to replay the whole thing again
4) Should the protagonist also appear on the screen during his/her dialog, or will a profile box be more than enough?
i prefer full body, but a profile box is fine, too
any other art you need help with as well I would be happy to do! Your game looks really cool, I can't wait to see how it goes <33333
